The Birmingham Blues Friends

Birmingham (GB) is the birthplace of many famous bands: Black Sabbath, The Move, Spencer Davis Group, UB40 and many, many more. You can still hear today, top class musicians performing throughout the City on what is still a thriving live music scene: Jazz, Rock, Blues, Soul, Pop, Reggae, every style finds a home here.
There are also great hang-outs, where musicians, over a pint of beer or two, meet up and talk about the scene or the latest gossip, their latest recordings or latest tour.
These are also the places where new ideas are born. For example: forming a new band that will blow away the audience, not with volume, but with quality. And here is that band presenting the best Birmingham has to offer!

The formation of this band was an idea initiating from Birmingham born pianist/singer Steve "Big Man" Clayton, who lives since many years in Germany. He has never forgotten his homeland however, and tours there regularly each year, working together on stage with some of The best from many great musicians that he has got to know over the years.
It is typical for THE BIRMINGHAM BLUES FRIENDS not to have a solid line-up. The formation is always Piano/Vocal, Drums, Bass, adding Saxophone or Guitar if required. The bands repertoire is a mixture of Steve Clayton originals and traditional songs.
The sheer quality and professionalism of the musicians involved in this project makes sure that the music is always high class but full of surprises.
The good humour and understanding between the musicians is quickly conveyed onto the audience who straight away feel relaxed, captured, never leaving a concert until the last encore has been played!
