No. 6 - Goin' Back To Birmingham
Date of release: 25. Oktober 2007 - Label: Stormy Monday Records
"This CD contains sessions from 3 different times and places.
The session with „The Birmingham Blues Friends“ is like taking a step back to the 50´s with some great sax playing from Paul Corry.Dean Beresford on drums and Al Gare on Bass back Clayton superbly well and are all on board and coastin´ on the breath-taking „Boogie in the Barn“.
The 2nd session is a mixture of solo and duo with Florian Graf on drums demonstrating Clayton´s outstanding ability and feel.
The last session offers a new take of „midnight baby“ and is an exellent inclusion on a CD which is full of colour and excitement and shows once again that Steve „Big Man“ Clayton is indeed the King of Barrelhouse piano!" (Ken John, M&M 08/2008)

No. 5 - Dirty Mistreater
Date of release: 10. March 2004 - Label: Stormy Monday Records
"Steve Clayton has played with many of the big blues stars, and is a permanent fixture on the European piano scene. He has been recording under his own name for a long time. His latest release presents 12 original songs covering a wide range of blues and boogie piano. Some instrumental, some with vocals. Clayton is brave enough to take little steps into the world of pop, "She just turned around", and gospel, "A Prayer".
Little steps that succeed very well.
The main focus of this CD is however classic Barrelhouse blues and boogie piano. His experience has allowed him to go outside of the "routine" and experiment with improvisations and left hand patterns creating something really new. So, "Dirty Mistreater" offers a lot of interesting and refreshing songs and techniques, something even for the older boogie connoisseurs and enthusiasts!" (Thomas Ritter, Blues News 37)

"This is Steve Clayton´s first solo CD and includes 13 exceptional self-penned songs which show his virtuosity and power.
He plays blues and boogie variations technically perfect but doesn´t forget the deep feeling that also goes with them.
He has a very expressive voice and is one of the few new "songsters" on piano with great humour in the lyrics and a fascinating musicianship." (Ruhr-Uni, Bochum 1999)

No. 2 - I Got A Right
Date of release: 01. January 1995 - Label: Hot Fox Records, Distribution: in-akustik
"It is hard to believe that it exists: A man sitting at the piano playing and singing furious boogie woogie and powerfully driving his fellow musicians along like this. Clayton is a master of a dying piano art. He is not interested if the Boesendorfer is in perfect tune he is only interested that the maestro is in good form and Clayton is in such magnificent form that you can only lie down at his feet!"
